Apple Pie

Apple Pie garnished with crust swirls and a star vent pattern

  • 6 Large Apples

  • 2 Tbsp Flour

  • 3/4 tsp Cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp Salt

  • 1Tbsp Lemon Juice

  • 2 Pre-made Pie Crust

Peel and thinly slice apples

mix cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, flour, and lemon in a large bowl & cover apples completely

Lay out 1 pie crust along bottom of pie pan

Fill with apple filling

cover with the second pie crust

press sides firmly

poke holes in pie crust to vent

cover crust edges with tin foil

Bake @ 425F for 30 min

Remove tin foil and continue to bake for 15min

Notes from the chef:

Give the crust an egg wash to make it shiny.

Extras:

sprinkle leftover crust with butter, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon

cook 15 min w/ pie & sprinkle with confectioner's sugar
